Marco Simoncelli sarà il 21/o pilota ad entrare nella Hall of Fame della MotoGP. La cerimonia durante il Gp d’Italia al Mugello (30 maggio-1 giugno). Il ‘Sic’, al quale è anche stato intitolato il circuito di Misano, mor√¨ durante il Gp della Malesia a Sepang il 23 ottobre 2011. Sono presenti nella Hall of Fame anche Agostini, Doohan, Duke, Gardner, Hailwood, Kato, Lawson, Mang, Nieto, Rainey, Read, Redman, Roberts, Saarinen, Schwantz, Sheene, Spencer, Surtees, Stoner e Ubbiali.
